He also won as the Best New Act of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards and The Next Rated Award at the 2014 Headies Awards - Nigeria’s most prestigious music award. In 2014, he officially signed a record deal with Foston Musik. Under the label, he has released five of his acclaimed hit singles. In a breakout streak, he has performed in Mauritius, New York, London and at Notting Hill Carnival alongside American pop superstar Tinashe.

Patoranking gained popularity and rose to prominence in the Nigerian music industry thanks to his unique blend of dancehall, reggae music and select African percussion lines. He has finally released his anticipated debut album titled “God Over Everything”.

Patoranking, the oldest of a family of five, was raised in a small slum known as Ilaje in Lagos, Nigeria. His family lived in extreme poverty forcing Patoranking to become a hawker on the streets at a tender age. This drove him to pursue a career in music to make life better for him and his family. His career would flourish as soon as he started working behind the scenes with veteran artistes such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone. His first big break would be collaborating with one of Africa’s top dancehall acts: Timaya to record and release Alubarika – a song that means “God’s Blessings”. This is a true story of his translation from the ghetto to hero - from grass to grace.
